There are about ninety of them, most are female, amateur and Istanbulite.  They share a common passion for photographing their beloved city. Some of their work is clearly outstanding. They share the fruits of their labor via annual exhibitions held both in Istanbul and abroad. They are the BenIstanbul (I am Istanbul) group and they like to refer to their common work as the BenIstanbul Photography Project. Their work is on display at http://2016.benistanbul.com.tr/. Too bad their website is in Turkish only. Never the less, the site is chock-full of outstanding imagery worth a visit by photography enthusiasts. Here is a video showcasing the group member’s varied visions of this mystical city.
